The world cinematography of the 1970s and 1990s is associated with the work of its outstanding personnel, who in their films turned to various philosophical and aesthetic concepts that helped them to protest against spirituality, to affirm the ideals of humanism, and the values of high human feelings.

In general, the number of such festivals throughout Ukraine is immeasurably large. Odesa International Film Festival, Kyiv International Film Festival "Youth", Kharkiv International Festival "Kharkiv MeetDocs", "New Ukrainian Cinema" in Luhansk region, "Days of Ukrainian Cinema" in Lviv, etc.

It is not often that film experts turn to such an important field of cinematographic activity as film education. It can be said that the young researchers R. Roslyak and O. Bezruchko entered the territory that until now remained on the margins of film studies. In addition, few researchers were able to master historical facts with the help of archival documentation. R. Roslyak's text reveals to the reader a kind of terra incognita, because during the Soviet era, Ukrainian film education was persistently relegated to the shadows, weakening it also purely organizationally (closure of the film institute, departure of personnel, etc.).

This fate did not escape actors: yes, John Wayne, Ridley Scott were associated with westerns, Edward Robinson - with gangster films, John Crawford and Barbara Stanwyck - with melodramas, Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi - with horror films, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone - with action films, Jim Carrey, Leslie Nilsson - with comedies. The most popular cinematographic genre is detective: showing crimes, their investigation and identification of the guilty. Movies of the thriller genre do not have clear signs, but cause the viewer a feeling of tense experience and excitement. Sometimes horror films are included in the category of thrillers, and in some places also detective-adventure films, in which the emphasis is shifted to the preparation for some unique crime. Director A. Hitchcock is considered a recognized master of thrillers.
