The film "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" was conceived as a screen adaptation, but this film had a different fate - to become a manifesto of a whole direction, which was called "poetic cinema". Bo Willimon — an American playwright and screenwriter (screenwriter of "House of Cards") — has already voiced his desire to shoot a documentary about the crimes and genocide committed by the Rashists in the Ukrainian town of Bucha. According to the Buchansk City Council, the screenwriter is already collecting materials while in Ukraine.

The further development of the world film process in the 1940s and 1960s was associated with the emergence of various directions that testified to the interesting searches and experiments that took place in its bowels. The concept of film genre began to take shape with the establishment of the Hollywood studio system. It helped systematize the production of films and facilitated their promotion to the market.
