The further development of the world film process in the 1940s and 1960s was associated with the emergence of various directions that testified to the interesting searches and experiments that took place in its bowels. Prominent artists of world cinema stood near their origins. Thus, the phenomenon of "Italian neorealism" was associated with the names of R. Rossellini - "Rome - an open city", "Paisa"; V. De Sica - "Bicycle Thieves", "Umberto D.", "The Roof"; D. De Santis - "There is no peace under the olives", "Rome, 11 o'clock"; L. In the conditions of the war since the beginning in the territory of Donbas, the annexation of Crimea and today's full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, a "cinema boom" has been observed. All of them are high-quality, dramatic, vivid, and most importantly, Ukrainian, depicting for Ukrainians and the world everything that happened and is happening during the war in our country. Today, it is possible to confidently predict an even bigger "cinema boom" that will happen after Ukraine's victory in the war with Russia. After all, unfortunately, there will be something to show. Moreover, not only Ukrainians, but also foreign artists will shoot. Bo Willimon — an American playwright and screenwriter (screenwriter of "House of Cards") — has already voiced his desire to shoot a documentary about the crimes and genocide committed by the Rashists in the Ukrainian town of Bucha. According to the Buchansk City Council, the screenwriter is already collecting materials while in Ukraine.

The appearance of scientific investigations, articles on the pages of such magazines as "Kino-Kolo", "Kino-Teatr", the publication of monographs devoted to certain problems of domestic cinema, became the basis for an in-depth generalization of the research of film studies and gave rise to the publication of "Essays on the History of Cinematography of Ukraine" under the auspices of the Institute of Contemporary Art Problems, Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
