Recently, it has become an important means of mass communication, without which it is impossible to imagine today's life. Television has its own genre structure, which it constantly develops and improves. That is why television is considered an integral factor in the cultural process today and occupies a special place in the life of a modern person.

This fate did not escape actors: yes, John Wayne, Ridley Scott were associated with westerns, Edward Robinson - with gangster films, John Crawford and Barbara Stanwyck - with melodramas, Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi - with horror films, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone - with action films, Jim Carrey, Leslie Nilsson - with comedies. The most popular cinematographic genre is detective: showing crimes, their investigation and identification of the guilty. The concept of film genre began to take shape with the establishment of the Hollywood studio system. It helped systematize the production of films and facilitated their promotion to the market.
